Bosco Ciancio sits at 1,200 metres on the southern slopes of Mount Etna, in the heart of the National Park. Thirty hectares of private chestnut forest, ten rooms, a restaurant that follows the seasons.
This blog was born from that place — and tells the story of what you see, hear and taste when you actually live at this altitude.
You'll find articles on Etna hikes: the lateral craters, the lava tube caves, the difference between a dawn and a sunset on the volcano.
You'll find the seasons of the forest: the wild asparagus of spring, the mushrooms and chestnuts of autumn, the silence that changes shape depending on the month. You'll find the flavours of the territory: Nerello Mascalese, Carricante, the extra-virgin olive oils from the Etna slopes, the producers who have worked this land for generations.
This isn't a travel guide. It's the story of a place that really exists — written by the people who live there.
